Adolph Deutsch papers, 1907-1960.

The collection contains music scores and phonograph recordings for some of the films that Deutsch scored. Also included is a full score for Deutsch's concerto for bagpipe and orchestra, titled the "Scottish Suite". Photographs, clippings, correspondence, and printed material comprise the scrapbooks and general papers, which document Deutsch's career.

Adolph Deutsch was a composer and arranger for Paul Whiteman's band and for many motion pictures, including "The Maltese Falcon" and "The Apartment". He was born in London and emigrated to the United States in 1910. He began his musical career in New York and spent three seasons with Paul Whiteman's Music Hall before moving to California.
